The Woodland Indian Art Center Beading Collective is open to Native and non-Native participants alike.  This is a community program and all who want to bead are welcome to join and participate.

Bring an old project or start a new one.  We are building community through Beading!

Beading Collective

Pre-registration is required if you wish to use the Free Beads through the Beading Collective.  No registration is required if you bring your own beads!

The Woodland Indian Art Center will be open to members of the beading collective on Saturdays during regular business hours from 10am - 5pm.

The Beading Collective will begin Saturday November 19, 2011

A large selection of beads have been provided to Northwoods NiiJii by a generous donation. The Beading Collective is being started with this supply of beads, provided to registered participants of the beading collective while supply lasts.

Please note that on Saturday November 26 the Woodland Indian Art Center is having a HOLIDAY ART MARKET OPEN HOUSE and will NOT have the Beading Collective!!  There may be other Saturdays that the Beading Collective can't meet, we will notify members and post notices on the door in advance.

Event Details

Many Trails ~ NiiJii Native Arts Gathering will bring together Native artists, arts organizations and culture bearers from across the Woodlands region for a two-day gathering. The focus of the event will be on: resources, opportunities, and funding for Native artists; sharing best practices; leadership development; networking;  and the exchange of knowledge between Native artists.    

 

Affordable lodging options have been made available specifically for Many Trails participants who plan to stay in Lac du Flambeau overnight.  Find out more about these accomodations here.

The "Unofficial" start of the summer season starts now!

Join us at the Woodland Indian Art Center for some Art, Food & Live music featuring Native flute performances and story telling with Michael "Scooter" Charette ,a tribal member from the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in Northern Wisconsin.

We will be featuring the 2nd annual LCO Community College Student Art Show opening which is a collection of the art work the students have done over the last year with the instruction of local Artist/Writer Mildred "Tinker" Schuman.

An Indian Taco/Frybread sale will also be taking place from NOON until sold out.

 

This is a FREE event & open to Everyone!

**All the fun will start at 11am til 5 pm**
